New Toppila Business Area

A new Toppila Business Area of about 50 hectares will be built between the centre of Alavus and the Tuuri shopping village by the busy main road 18. Companies located in the area have the opportunity to affect on the planning of the area, e.g. the business sites to be formed.

Concentration of companies in the building product industry

Alavus’ industrial activity began more than a hundred years ago in the joinery industry. The building product industry remains as one of the main industries, but several significant industries have developed alongside it, such as facade construction, metal industry and retail sector. Agriculture also continues to play an important role in Alavus’ business environment.

Building Products

In addition to products made of wood, they also produce concrete elements and steel structures and manufactures design timber houses in Alavus.

Facade Construction

Facade construction and related glass tempering, as well as the use of aluminium, is an industry which products spread from Alavus all over the world.

Metal Industry

For the metal industry’s part, in Alavus produces tanks, excavator buckets, stone crushers and parts needed by the process industry. As a special strength is aluminium expertise.
